THE NOT COMMANDMENTS--PART VI
FATHER'S DAY
SERMON TITLE: DOUBT NOT
SERMON THEME: DOUBT CAN TAKE YOU OUT
SERMON TEXT: MATTHEW 14:30-31

DOUBT NOT, BUT INSTEAD, CHOOSE TO BELIEVE BECAUSE  JESUS WAS RESURRECTED FROM THE DEAD.

JOHN 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and [a]have it abundantly.

HOW WE MIGHT KNOW HOW TO DOUBT LESS!

I) KNOW YOU HAVE TO WANT TO NOT DOUBT

MATTHEW 14:25-27
25 And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

            A) WE DOUBT WHEN WE WONDER IS IT WORTH IT?

            B) WE DOUBT WHEN WE WONDER IS IT TRUE?

II TIMOTHY 3:14-15
14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

II) KNOW THAT JESUS ANTICIPATED YOUR DOUBTS

            A) PEOPLE WHO KNEW JESUS DOUBTED

JOHN 1:29-31
29 The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’ 31 I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water.”

JOHN 11:20-21
20 Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him, but Mary stayed at the house. 21 Martha then said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

            B) YOU MUST DO WHAT JESUS SAYS TO DO

MATTHEW 14:28-29
28 Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

III) KNOW THAT JESUS CAN LIFT YOU UP OUT OF YOUR DOUBTS.

MATTHEW 14:30-31
30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

MATTHEW 21:21
21 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen.

JOHN 6:60,66-70
60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this said, “This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?”
66 As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. 67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” 68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. 69 We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.” 70 Jesus answered them, “Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?”

CONCLUSION: IF YOU ALLOW DOUBT TO TAKE YOU OUT, YOU WILL MISS OUT ON WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU.

EPHESIANS 4:14
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
