SERMON
TITLE: I WILL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU
SERMON
THEME: BEING PUT RIGHT WITH GOD
SERMON
TEXT: ROMANS 6:22-23
INTRODUCTION: THE CROSS IS A SYMBOL OF
THE CHRISTIAN FAITH THAT
PROCLAIMS GOD'S LOVE FOR ALL.
I
CORINTHIANS 1:18
18 For the message of the cross is
foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being
saved it is the power of God.
·
THE CROSS IS WHERE
THE FOOLISHNESS OF GOD REQUIRES THE FAITH OF MEN AND WOMEN.
ROMANS
6:22-23
22 But now
that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of
God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal
life. 23 For the
wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.
I) THE CROSS IS GOD'S PROCLAMATION.
I JOIHN
4:9
9 This is how God showed his
love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might
live through him.
A) OF TRUTH
ACTS 4:12
12 Salvation
is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind
by which we must be saved.”
B) OF LOVE
JOHN
3:16-17
16 For God
so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
·
GOD GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON BECAUSE OF HIS GREAT LOVE FOR THE WORLD.
II) THE CROSS IS
GOD'S INVITATION.
I
CORINTHIANS 1:25-26; 30
25 For the
foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of
God is stronger than human strength. 26 Brothers and
sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were
wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble
birth.
30 It is
because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom
from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
A)
TO TRUST
PROVERBS
3:5-6
5 Trust in
the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
B) TO TRIUMPH
ROMANS
8:31-32
31 What,
then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who
can be against us? 32 He
who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not
also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
·
VICTORY DOES NOT
COME FROM YOUR STRENGTH,
VICTORY COMES FROM YOUR SURRENDER.
I JOHN
5:4
4 for everyone born of
God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the
world, even our faith.
CONCLUSION: WHEN YOU SURRENDER TO
THE POWER OF GOD YOU ARE SAVED FROM THE PENALTY OF SIN, THE POWER
OF SIN, AND THE PRESENCE OF
SIN.
I
CORINTHIANS 15:57
57 But thanks be to
God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
